Now @flynn.sheehan, @_passion4football_ was my first successful personal endeavor and the genesis of my copywriting abilities. I wrote all of the posts, sourced effective hashtags, photographed nearly each picture, designed each custom concept, and filmed and edited each video. The page amassed 31,000 followers at its prime, and being involved in each step of the social media process truly allowed me to develop my copywriting skills while I was in high school.
Through this process, I learned effective skills at a very young age through the never ending process of trial and error.
Over time, as my designs, photographs, and videos became more professional, I realized how important it was for the copy to be just as strong, or stronger, to truly obtain desired growth and engagement. Growing as a writer went hand in hand with growing as a designer, photographer, and marketer in general. At 15, with 12,000 followers to my name, I approached Soccer2000 (a soccer retail store in Downers Grove) and presented to them what I could do for their social media presence. After two days, the owner contacted me and agreed that there was lots of potential in building them a social media presence, and that began a multi-year collaboration, where I was contracted to promote their social media avenues while simultaneously running them myself. |
